A trail of ants across your kitchen counter is a scouting party, not the whole problem. All Over Pest Control identifies the species and nest location before choosing a bait. Overwatered mulch beds right against the foundation are one of the most common ant attractants we find during inspection.
Bait selection depends entirely on species. We confirm which ant we're dealing with before loading anything. We track which bait formulation was used at each visit, so follow-up technicians don't start over.
Every technician carries active Lewistown, IL licensing and full liability coverage for structural pest work. Non-repellent bait gets rotated if a colony shows reduced response over repeated treatments. Non-repellent bait gets rotated if a colony shows reduced response over repeated treatments.
Because our routes already run through Lewistown, IL, most ant calls get same-day or next-day inspection scheduling. Technicians already routed through Lewistown, IL keep response times short even during peak ant season. Repellent products just scatter a colony to a new spot. We carry non-repellent bait that gets carried back to the nest instead. Perimeter treatment equipment is recalibrated between properties to keep application rates consistent.
We don't run one generic ant spray for every call — treatment depends heavily on which species we actually find. A summary of moisture issues found during inspection is provided, useful even beyond the ant problem itself.
Carpenter ants nest in moisture-damaged wood, so we trace trails back to the nest, often inside walls or structural framing, before treating directly.
Odorous house ants split into multiple nesting sites easily, which is why non-repellent bait that spreads colony-wide works better than direct spray.
A treated barrier around the foundation intercepts ants before they ever reach the interior of your Lewistown, IL home.
Since many ant species are drawn to moisture, we flag leaking pipes, damp mulch, or excess irrigation contributing to the problem.
Indoor ant trails get spot-treated at entry cracks and baseboards rather than a blanket interior application.
We check back to confirm the colony is gone, not just that the trail moved somewhere else in the yard.

We prioritize ant dispatch because some species split into multiple colonies if left untreated too long.
Expect trail tracing and species identification first, then a written plan and price before any product goes down.
Non-repellent baiting typically shows a visible drop in trail activity within a week or two, with a follow-up to confirm colony elimination.
"They traced the trail straight to a window frame we had no idea was moisture-damaged. Glad we caught it early."
"Odorous house ants kept coming back with store-bought sprays. Non-repellent bait actually got rid of the whole colony."
"Perimeter treatment stopped ants from ever making it into the kitchen again after months of daily trails."
"Follow-up visit confirmed the colony was actually gone, not just relocated to another part of the yard."
"We used to get trails every spring like clockwork. The quarterly plan has kept it fully under control since."
Repellent sprays break the visible trail but rarely reach the actual nest, so the colony usually just relocates nearby.
We look at trail behavior and, when possible, the ants themselves to confirm species before choosing a bait.
They nest in moisture-damaged wood, so their presence often indicates an underlying moisture issue worth addressing.
Bait placement avoids open pet-accessible areas, and every product we use is EPA-registered and label-compliant.
Give it one to two weeks — the bait needs time to work through the colony network before activity fully stops.
We back the treatment with a guarantee window — ask your technician for the specific terms for your property.
